Gazette of India Notifications are published by this department and are printed from the Government of India Printing Presses regularly. This is an authorised legal document of Government of India containing the mode of operations under the law of the land.

It may be mentioned here that this Publication Programme is executed as per the Government of India (Allocation of Business Rules) issued from time to time by the Cabinet Secretariat of the Republic of India.

The Department of Publication is headed by the Controller of Publications with the assistance of two Assistant Controllers, one Financial Officer and an Assistant Director (Official Language) with over 340 employees under the overall guidance of the main Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Nirman Bhawan in New Delhi.
